John Etheridge with Sweet Chorus
Sat-12-Sep (7:30pm):
John Etheridge with Sweet Chorus
Show Time 9pm / Doors Open 7:30pm

John Etheridge brings Sweet Chorus to the Club for the last night of his residency. John formed Sweet Chorus on news of the death of the greatest violinist in Jazz ,Stephane Grappelli, with whom he toured for many years in the 70s and early 80s. This was and is a very personal tribute – not a reconstruction of the music but a continuation of Grappelli’s free spirit and playfulness. Christian Garrick, a virtuoso by any standards, takes the violin chair, and they are joined by Dave Kelbie (guitar) and Andy Crowdie (bass). The band made its debut at the club in March 1998, so this is a welcome return .

"It is music that demands that you close your eyes and listen, for only then can the ethereal nature of what is being played stand separate from the physical reality of darting fingers and blurred plectrums." The Guardian
