Fri-15-Jun (7:30pm) - £20.00
Lucinda Belle
Show Time 9:00pm / Doors Open 7:30pm
‘It Begins, it Middles and it Ends with the songs…just good music.’ This is the attitude that Lucinda applies to her sound. For Lucinda is not just a jazz harpist, accomplished singer- songwriter, and composer she is continuing to pioneer the way forward for the harp. Effortlessly breaking down stereo types through her Retro Jazz individual Sound. Her new line up of her orchestra will leave you wondering why no one ever thought to combine 50’s surf guitar with Harp before? Her strong Gypsy Jazz roots still permeate her music but the newly defined retro influences are hard to miss too – her new and exciting sound is like’ a hybrid of a Quentin Tarantino and Woody Allen movie.’ After the release of her debut album ‘My Voice and 45 Strings’ Lucinda with her orchestra have been making waves with their energetic, highly entertaining and live shows.
With an infectious love of music that reaches from Django Reinhardt to the Mamas and Papas and from Queen to Débussy, the sound of Lucinda and her orchestra is as vibrant and versatile as you’d expect. She honed her skills playing harp in hotels, but soon ditched that to become a Jazz Harpist in none other than Nashville. Returning home with harp in the back of a black cab, a new era began where she earned a reputation as a songwriter and session player. She got her first big break playing with Robbie Williams at the Electric Proms and has since never stopped moving forward. Drawing comparisons don’t do justice to her well-developed ear for a pop melody, captivating voice and an undeniable gypsy spirit that permeates everything the Belle does.
