Raconteur and cabaret queen James Haslam delivers more personal stories and anecdotes in his acclaimed camp and comedic style. Life In A Gold Fish Bowl explores one mans struggle at trying to fit in. A journey that deals with an obsession with Wonder Woman, dyslexia, drugs, a fire arms conviction and Nichiren Buddhism – all delivered with a splattering of comedy & song! Sparkling piano accompaniment by Richard Bates.
James trained at Rose Bruford college of Speech & Drama where he attained a bahons degree in acting.Since leaving drama school James has worked extensively as a cabaret performer and comedian. He reached the quarter final stages of The Leicester Square New Comedian Of The Year Competition before having to withdraw from the competition.
Richard Bates: He wrote music and lyrics for Treasure Island (2008) and Stagefright (2005), and music for Oh No It Isn’t (2009). He made new orchestrations for 1888, Little Fishand for the much acclaimed Union Theatre production of Assassins. He contributed vocal and dance arrangements and additional material to The Remains Of The Day and 1888 and Wonderboy.
