French Countertenor, Adrien Mastrosimone makes his debut at the Pheasantry. With a three piece band, he brings a wide range of music including songs by Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Mina, Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, Jerry Herman and Stephen Sondheim that will be performed with a very unique sound. After having had a successful career as a Ballet dancer and singing Opera, Adrien started writing cabaret shows with his band. In 2018, Adrien has performed to sold out audiences his shows ‘Une Vie en Rose' and ‘Mes Révolutionnaires’.

Originally from Marignane in the South of France, Adrien Mastrosimone began his professional career as a dancer with the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Switzerland. He later went on to work with European companies such as Alias Compagnie in Geneva, Switzerland, Les Jeunes Ballets de France, Paris and Les Ballets du Nord in Roubaix France. He then joined Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruiselines as a company member working on shows Choreographed by Harrison McEldowney, Sherry Zunker, Frank Chaves, Georges Reich and Minnie Madden and performing a season of  ‘Les Follies de Paris” in Reno, Nevada.

In 2006 Adrien moved to London, where he would sign with Robert Kelly Management and immediately be cast in West End shows including 'Fiddler on the Roof' at the Savoy Theatre; where he played The Fiddler and was delighted to be part of original London cast recording.  He made his Royal Opera House, Covent Garden stage debut in Korngold’s 'Die Tote Stadt’ and returned to appear as a dancer and actor in La Traviata, Cendrillon, Falstaff, The cunning Little Vixen, Nabucco, Dialogues des Carmelites, La Rondine, Tosca, La Fille du Regiment, The Rake’s Progress, Manon, Don Carlo and Artaxerxes at the Linbury Theatre.  He worked on the premier of Medea at the ENO directed by Sir David McVicar and Beatrice et Benedict at Glyndebourne directed by Laurent Pelly.

Adrien’s singing journey started in 2009 when he started working with Internationally acclaimed Countertenor and Professor of Singing, Andrew Watts. He sang his first Endymion in a new production of La Calisto directed by Joe Austin and conducted by Oliver-John Ruthven for Hampstead Garden Opera. He later sang the title role in the all male production of CarMen with Secret Opera Directed by Robin Pieta and conducted by Andrew Charity.

Adrien completed his Master’s degree for Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2016. During this time he sang Oberon in Britten's A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Blackheath Halls, The refugee in Dove’s Filght, Ottone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and Orlando in Handel’s Orlando. 2015 marks the birth of the Ensemble Andromeda. The six piece ensemble has performed operatic excerpts by Vivaldi, Steffani, Handel and Porpora in various concerts.  Adrien continues his studies with Neil Baker.

In 2017  Adrien wrote his first sell-out cabaret show for the Toulouse Lautrec, Kennington and named it 'Mon Manège à Moi'. Along with his band; Brian Smith Walters (piano), Will Davies (Double Bass) Craig Lutton (percussion), Adrien performed music by Henry Purcell, Charles Aznavour, Rufus Wainwright, Mina, Kurt Weill, Jerry Herman and Edith Piaf. In Spring 2018,  Adrien returned with a brand new critically acclaimed, show 'Une Vie en Rose' based on the life and songs of Edith Piaf which would run for several sell-out performances.
