Featuring Thomas Gould and Daisy Chute

Event Has Passed

Last Show: Thursday 26 th July 2018

For this special event, pianist/composer Alex Curtis leads a stellar line up, comprising of Daisy Chute on vocals, Thomas Gould on violin, Kevin Glasgow on bass and Jamie Murray on drums. The group will be performing music from Alex's forthcoming album 'Patterns, habits and Changes.' Alongside this original material, the group will also play fresh arrangements of standards and music by the likes of the Police and the Beatles, all with a decidedly contemporary edge. Drawing on a whole range of influences, the band demonstrates outstanding musicianship and very strong collective writing skills. Expect highly original arrangements/compositions, heavy grooves and plenty of exciting group interaction.

"The young British violinist Thomas Gould seems intent on becoming the Nigel Kennedy of his generation…Scythingly scintillating playing from a young virtuoso with a magpie mind”

Dasiy Chute

Daisy Chute is a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and teacher. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, ukulele, banjo) she performs her own material solo and with various bands including newly formed three and me. She is a founder member of vocal quartet All Angels who have released three successful platinum-selling albums with Universal, two of which were nominated for Classical Brit Album of the Year.

Dasiy Chute is the real deal, equally at home singing in diverse settings such as on Radiohead's latest album, 'A moon shaped pool,' or platinum selling vocal quartet 'All Angels,' and her jazz skills have been lauded by many, such as the late great Mark Murphy, jazz singer and six time Grammy nominee, who said “Daisy, like Barbra Streisand, has a fully developed vocal talent at a young age. This girl has the gift of communication.”
