PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

PizzaExpress Live is very proud to launch a new series of stand-up comedy shows in our Holborn venue. Performers are drawn from the very best UK club comedians - many of whom are award-winners. Each night will feature three great performers. Whether you've come to see someone in particular or are just curious to see a comedy show, every one of the comedians we are presenting is hugely experienced and has sold out shows in their own right.

Alex Smith
Alex’s trademark mix of laser sharp stand-up observations and cleverly crafted comedy songs have helped him rapidly emerge as one the most exciting new acts on the circuit.
He has performed all over the world including at the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival.
On TV, Alex was most recently a guest on The Chris Ramsey Show for Comedy Central, and wrote and performed the new appeal advert for the NHS Organ Donation Appeal. He has also appeared on BBC Radio 2’s New Comedy Awards and secured two guest slots on BBC3’s prestigious talent showcase, Live At The Electric hosted by Russell Kane, whom he supported during his ‘Smallness’ tour. Alex was runner up in The Amused Moose 2013 Laugh Off competition and appeared as part of The Comedy Zone at Edinburgh 2014. He was also a finalist at the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland. He has written for Huffington Post, You & Your Wedding and is currently writing for Rock n Roll Bride.

Sophie Duker
Sophie Duker describes herself as a “sexy-cerebral comedy underdog” and is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit.
In 2018 Sophie starred in a comedy pilot for Channel 4 called Riot Girls, as well as a new pilot for Comedy Central UK called What I Wish I’d Said.
She is also a comedy writer whose funnies you might have heard in the following places: the British Broadcasting Co-orporation (Famlam, BBC2; The News Quiz, The Now Show, BBC Radio 4) and Cartoon Network (The Amazing World of Gumball).
Sophie is an alumna of the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve, has been shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award and is a previous finalist of the Funny Women Awards.
She founded and hosts MANIC PIXIE DREAM GIRLS, an international, intersectional feminist comedy show that appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and 2017. Since January 2018 Sophie also hosts Wacky Racists, a ‘crazy stupid cool’ comedy cabaret gameshow, in a monthly residency at the Aces & Eights.

“A sparky proposition… intelligent jokes” – The Independent

After winning the Jumpoff TV Comedy competition in 2012 he went on to perform for BBC 1xtra and made an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Stephen K Amos’ Life: an Idiot’s Guide. Travis is currently a radio presenter for ‘The Vibe’ on The Beat London Radio station.
