Fronted by reggae legend Carroll Thompson and up-coming vocalist Freddie Benedict, British Standard Time promises an exciting new spin on classic British songs from the 1930s to the present day. The live show of this accalimed album features Carroll Thompson and Freddie Benedict with Alex Webb (piano), Jamie McCredie (guitar), Mikele Montoli (bass) and Sophie Alloway (drums). The material ranges from jazz-era classics like The Very Thought Of You and Try A Little Tenderness to songs from the musicals (Lionel Bart, Anthony Newley), re-worked pop classics (Rod Temperton, Lennon & McCartney), modern jazz standards (George Shearing, John Dankworth) and recent hits by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Rag’n’Bone Man.
