Born in San Diego to classically trained musical parents, Allison started singing before she could speak and began performing in front of audiences at age 5. Growing up on the border with Mexico, Allison was exposed to intermingling cultures, and her love for languages and world cultures also began at an early age. Allison's vocal palette has been coloured by her experience in a variety of musical genres throughout her life, from classical to punk rock and even a cappella Elizabethan madrigals, and in 2005 she found her home in jazz.
Allison's third and latest album WANDERlust was recorded in NYC under award-winning producer Matt Pierson (Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit), features a stunning all-star ensemble, and received critical acclaim. WANDERlust journeys into new territory with stories and music from Björk and Christina Perri to Astor Piazzolla, Pat Metheny and Antonio Carlos Jobim to Ennio Morricone, and even ancient Japanese folk songs, touted 'Killer stuff from a true rising star' by Midwest Record.
Allison's voice can be heard on national commercials and on the video game "The Saboteur" soundtrack singing French jazz in the company of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Madeleine Peyroux, and others. This has resulted in a cult following by a typically "non-jazz listening" gamer audience, pushing her interpretation of "La Vie En Rose” into the top downloads on iTunes, Pandora, and Spotify worldwide.
Allison has entertained audiences in Japan, Europe, Mexico, and the US, including the Blue Note New York, Ronnie Scott's London, San Jose Jazz Fest, Herb Alpert's Vibrato Los Angeles, The Jazz Kitchen Indianapolis, Tula's Seattle, Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival, Hawaii Jazz & Blues Fest, Takatsuki Jazz Street Festival Osaka, Body & Soul Tokyo, Le Baiser Salé Paris, Music Inn Rome, Lucca Jazz Donna Festival Tuscany, among others.
