The Boondock Hippy are an 18 legged, 9 headed beast combining, foot -stomping blues, soul infused grooves and country roots. "Their tunes just make people dance" Muso Muso.
After receiving extensive nationwide radio plays with their last 2 singles "Dear Sir Arise" and "Way to Go" the band are currently dazzling audiences at their live shows all over the country.
So what do you ask goes into the Boondock Hippy Soul Stew... You've got to firstly put in about a half a teacup of bass, Andy McSweeney provides the groove here. You then need a pound of funky drums and a generous portion of congos. Mark Claydon(The Getup/ Rhoda Dakar/The Jezebel Sextet) and Abhs Joshi head up the big rythym section. Now add four tablespoons of boiling Memphis guitar (Keiron Marshall), a liberal dollop of keys from Jimmy Harris, and 2 teaspoons of Saxophone from Harry Brunt and Tom Neal on tenor and alto. Add a dollop of acoustic guitar and Vox-Steve Keenlyside & a large serving of soulful harmonica-with Sky wood(Rumhoney and The Blues chapter)on the reeds. Place on the burner and bring to a boil.
The band from London formed 3 years ago and have been extensively playlisted on BBC Radio 2/BBC Radio Scotland/BBC 6 Music and have performed live on BBC Radio London/BBC Radio Kent. They have featured on ITV/Channel 4(Sunday Brunch) as well as providing soundtracks to various films.
If you want a night out filled with laughter and moves, soul and grooves The Boondock Hippy shall provide...
