“An extraordinary and transcendent vocal performance.”

Ian Mann, 2016

Inês Loubet has been delving into different styles of Brazilian and West African music from early on - although she was born in Portugal, her father is Angolan/Portuguese and her mother brought her up in the Brazilian musical and social culture. As well as playing Brazilian percussion and guitar, Loubet has been developing her own sound with strong influences not only from her Jazz training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London but also her Portuguese roots. She performs as both ‘sideman’ and as a leader in an ever-expanding range of projects, from Portuguese and Brazilian folk music, Jewish Jazz - singing in English, Portuguese, Ladino, Hebrew, Creole and Spanish to more contemporary outlets - often using her voice as an instrument.

Ines has performed and led workshops in Portugal, Germany, France, Spain, Sardinia, Italy and all over the UK, performing regularly in London at top venues such as the Vortex, The Jazz Café, Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, Pizza Express Holborn Live, The Spice of Life among others. She has performed at Brecon Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, Greenwich Jazz Festival, Stroud Jazz Festival, Lovebox Festival, Cala Gonone Jazz Festival in Sardinia as well as Coburg Samba Festival in Germany. Tonight her trio will perform different rhythms from Brazil such as Samba, Choro, Bossa Nova, and Cape Verde such as Coladera, Batuk, Funaná, be sure not to miss it!
