Hailing from the West Midlands, Namiwa Jazz is a singer-songwriter who speaks her truth, with a fearless lyrical approach to subjects that mean a lot to her. Join Namiwa Jazz with accompaniment from her live Afrotwang band for an evening of original composition with influence from Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, R&B and Regaee music. Her unique singing style is leaving music lovers feeling that once again, the world may see another great voice emerge from the region that amongst others, gave the world Joan Armatrading and Laura Mvula. Namiwa Jazz has supported the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Public Enemy, The floacist (Floetry), Steel Pulse, Teedra Moses and Jacob Banks and played 2017 BBC Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Surprising listeners with a voice and aura way beyond her 24 years she describes her sound as Afro-Twang. Namiwa Jazz made her international debut in May 2018, playing live with her full band at New Skool Rules Urban Music festival in Rotterdam. More recently Jazz opened the main stage at Mostly Jazz Soul and Funk Festival ahead of Jimmy Cliff and David Rodigan and  is scheduled to perform at The Birmingham Jamhouse this summer. 

Namiwa Jazz has supported the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Public Enemy, The floacist (Floetry), Steel Pulse, Teedra Moses and Jacob Banks and played 2017 BBC Cheltenham Jazz Festival on the Free Stage. 

With the release of Jazz’s third penned project 360 On Love, backing from BBC introducing West Midlands and receiving plays from DJ Trevor Nelson and HW Stevens (Radio 1 Introducing) 2018 will see Namiwa Jazz coin the self-proclaimed genre Afrotwang as she blends Nu-soul, African Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B together. 

Namiwa Jazz is having fun with her band in the studio, later this year will see the release of her 4th body of work, more UK and international festival and gig dates and more of the sound music bloggers are a calling incredible..
