Event Has Passed

Last Show: Sunday 7 th October 2018

The Pheasantry (Chelsea)

Anoushka has been described by Jamie Cullum as ''a classic voice'', and by Neil Cowley as a "rich, natural talent". Her songwriting accolades also precede her, described by The 606 as ''one of the most talented songwriters of her generation". In anticipation of her debut album being released later this year, we are hugely fortunate to have Anoushka perform for us for one wonderful evening, raising vital funds for Maggie's West London Cancer Centre, where Anoushka has a very personal connection.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Maggie’s, who offer practical, emotional and social support to people affected by cancer and their family and friends.

Anoushka Lucas is a singer and songwriter who writes both for herself and for theatre. Described as a "rich, natural talent" (Neil Cowley), "a classic voice" (Jamie Cullum) and "one of the most talented songwriters of her generation" (the 606), Anoushka has sold out shows at Bush Hall, Pizza Express Dean Street, the 606 and Love Supreme Festival with her warm and magnetic stage shows. She has spent the past 3 years curating a new, wider and more experimental sound under the guidance of Martin Terefe at Kensaltown Studios. She premiered her first single from this collaboration - Dark Soul - on BBC Introducing for R2 in 2017. Her debut album is set for release in late 2018.

As a composer, Anoushka has collaborated with Omar Lyefook MBE to write the score for The Ballad of Klook and Vinette, a play with songs by Che Walker, which premiered at The Park Theatre, London in 2014 before beginning a second life in the Unites States, courtesy of the good people at NAMT Festival, 2017. Anoushka also collaborated with Sheila Atim to write an original score for Che Walker's The Etienne Sisters, which premiered at Theatre Royal Stratford East in 2015. More recently, Anoushka wrote 8 original songs for Sparks, a new play by Jessica Butcher, which they performed together at Vault Festival in February 2018. Sparks will next be seen at The Pleasance, Edinburgh Festival 2018 and at High Tide Festival in September 2018 .
