Nashville Meets London presents a monthly residency at PizzaExpress Live Holborn. Tonight will see performances from Austin Jenckes (USA) and Lisa Wright (UK). To hear Austin sing could be equated to being taken to church due to his songs being laced with dynamic soaring melodies, introspective life-lived lyrics. Stylistically his music makes you long for a simpler time when the world moved a little slower and things felt a bit more pure.

Austin Jenckes “Sounds Like: A gnarly, but vulnerable, country-blues singer with the introspective songwriting chops Nashville thankfully continues to reward.” — ROLLING STONE

Lisa Wright: "The one to watch!" - Nashville Songwriters Association International

Austin is a man made for the stage. Whether he’s sitting on a bar stool in the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia performing for
1,000 people by himself or back in the Northwest playing with a full band. His shows are captivating, inspiring and leave those that know him feeling like they are witnessing one of the true under-the-radar talents. His single new single “In My Head” was released
Oct. 19th & Rolling Stone Country named him one of their “10 Artists You Need To Know” in 2018 saying “he sounds like a gnarly, but
vulnerable, country-blues singer with the introspective songwriting chops Nashville thankfully continues to reward”.

At first glance; Lisa Wright is a 5ft, blonde, Essex girl who seemingly charms her way into the audiences’ affection by cracking jokes and telling stories but then she begins to play... and the room goes silent.
Described as ‘Kacey Musgraves meets John Mayer’, it's clear from your first listen that, to Lisa, lyrics mean everything with Inside Nashville describing her as: "intelligent, elegant and beyond her years".
With huge support from local BBC Introducing, Lisa was announced as one of their emerging ‘Sound of 2017s’ and subsequently was handpicked by BBC 6 Music to showcase at Latitude Festival. Since then, Lisa's reputation sky-rocketed and she was invited to support major artists such as: Cam, Ward Thomas, Eric Paslay and Phil Vassar on their UK tours and was added to the line up of C2C Festival 2019 at London's O2 Arena.
But, it doesn't stop there...
After impressing transatlantic audiences; the Nashville Songwriters Association (NSAI) recognised Lisa as their 'One to Watch' and championed her for her emphasis for writing memorable pop-country tracks with a flair that's true to her British roots. In December 2018, Lisa was nominated as 'Best Live Country/Folk Act' at the UMA Awards.
