‘Round & Round’ is the second album from The Ben Cox Band and this is the album launch gig in London. Following on from a great 2 years in which the band also released their debut album here at Dean Street, the band have played Ronnie Scott’s, St James Studio, Crazy Coqs as well as sold out shows at Cheltenham, Scarborough and Southport Jazz festivals. The band have created a stunning follow up to their debut album This Waiting Game. Funkier yes, but still retaining the jazz influences in Jamie’s writing and the James Taylor/Carol King influences in Ben’s songs, the band have retained the harmony and grooves that lead to so much airplay on Jamie Cullum and a BBC Maida Vale session. Tonight you get to hear brand new songs form the band, some old tunes re-imagined and the mesmerising tone from the pure voice that is Ben Cox.

Ben Cox and Keyboardist Jamie Safiruddin are the new Steely Dan. They have plenty of genre busting ideas and are a welcome addition to the UK Jazz Scene.’

Nigel Williams, JazzFM

"Two of the most vital young musicians to emerge from the UK scene. This truly is a young musical partnership to watch bloom and develop".  Ian Shaw

“Fresh new vocal jazz music, The title track This Waiting Game sounds really good, Ben has got a very precise voice, it recalls a little bit of  Kurt Elling to me,”  Jamie Cullum

“Jamie Safiruddin is a smart, sensitive pianist and his work with the classy young singer, Ben Cox, shows enormous promise” Barb Jungr
