PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

Off the back of a number of shows across London and Birmingham including a sold out PizzaExpress headline gig in January over the past year, Between Worlds return with their unique blend of Black music from the diaspora. With a wide range of influences ranging from Robert Glasper to the Clark Sisters, they cross boundaries, refusing to be pigeonholed into a specific genre. A four-piece of sax, keys, drums and bass, they've individually played with and for a variety of artists including Kokoroko, Kim Burrell, Ghetts and Kamaal Williams.

Between Worlds started in 2018, when bandleader Akil Henry put together a band for his sold-out debut concert 'With A Little Help From My Friends Vol.1". The band gelled so well that they decided to come together in their first incarnation as Rubix. Changing their name to Between Worlds, the band recently played the Underbelly at Hoxton (as part of through the noise's noisenights series), opened for Ashley Allen in Birmingham, and played a couple of Sofar Sounds gigs, along with performances at multiple venues around London. Their collective credits include Ed Sheeran, Kim Burrell, Ghetts, Kamaal Williams, Kokoroko, B Positive Choir, Kadeem Tyrell, Tendai, Ivy Knights, Brixton Chamber Orchestra, Brooks and The Company, Salliefoyeh and many more.
