PizzaExpress Live (Birmingham)

We are delighted to welcome Birmingham’s very own magical Black Voices! Black Voices is the leading, all-female a cappella collective in Europe. Its international following appreciates the diverse range of musicality in their performances, the beauty and power of the human voice, their connection with audiences and the open, free expression that singing in the black oral tradition promotes. Black Voices has opened for some of the greatest names in music - Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba and Wynton Marsalis. Successful tours in Malaysia, Myanmar and Egypt (2017) with The British Council, a commercial tour of Australia (Melbourne, Sydney and Perth) and also debuting at Jazz Cafe in Camden (March 2017) celebrating the music of Nina Simone in sell out shows.
