Alan Barnes is a prolific international performer, composer, arranger, bandleader and touring soloist.  He is best known for his work on clarinet, alto and baritone sax, where he combines a formidable virtuosity with a musical expression and collaborative spirit that have few peers.

Sought after and versatile pianist Barry has made a mark on the UK Jazz scene and in the last few years has also played many festivals and jazz clubs around the world. He has released many records on his own Moletone label, featuring Ben Street, Jeff Williams, Dave Green, Drew Gress, Tom Rainey, Chris Cheek and many more. He has played with, amongst others, Christine Tobin, Bill McHenry, Bobby Wellins, Jean Toussaint, Ian Shaw, Anita Wardell, Martin Speake, Dave Friesen, Tom Rainey and Ingrid Laubrock.

2021 Parliamentary Jazz Award nominee Brigitte Beraha is one of the leading talents on the UK jazz scene. She has recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums, with the latest under her name, 'Lucid Dreamers', adventuring into the realms of electronic exploration. She is increasingly involved in exciting cross-genre projects, such as the recreation of Basil Kirchin’s music as part of Hull City of Culture 2017 or Raising Hell with Henry Purcell led by Ethan Iverson at Kings Place in 2018, cementing her reputation as a truly versatile artist with a huge range of experience and creative scope. This concert sees Brigitte revisiting her love of the standard jazz repertoire, in an exciting new trio comprised of 'formidably skilled' Barry Green and 'phenomenal' Alan Barnes - Not to be missed!

"Barnes plays music that was radical 50 years ago but he infuses it with so much passion and energy you could believe it was minted on the spot, which is always part of the story with jazz." John L. Walters, The Guardian.

“…the one who really shone was pianist Barry Green. Watching his imagination unfurl, was an engaging experience and turned out to be the keenest musical pleasure of the evening” Ivan Hewett, Daily Telegraph
