Cantabile 'Song for Christmas'

Event Has Passed

Last Show: Saturday 28 th December 2019

The Pheasantry (Chelsea)

They’re back, for the fourth year running! If it's Christmas, it's got to be Cantabile – The London Quartet, in a programme which bridges perfectly the gap between Christmas and the New Year. The show features The London Quartet’s trademark blend of harmony and hilarity, with beautifully sung Seasonal Favourites along with recreations of some of the great vocal groups, including the Hi-Lo’s, the Four Freshmen, the Beach Boys, the Manhattan Transfer and the legendary Comedian Harmonists from 1930s Berlin. The exquisite voices of the London Quartet are matched at the piano by Chris Hatt, Associate Musical Director in the West End of Hamilton.

The London Quartet – still known to many as Cantabile – have long been recognised to be one of Britain's great vocal groups, with a following throughout Europe and further afield. Founded in Cambridge as a purely a cappella student group, they first came to prominence in the Tim Rice musical Blondel in London's West End. These days they spend more time touring overseas than in the UK, so be sure to catch this relatively rare London appearance.

For their appearances at The Pheasantry they are joined once again by Chris Hatt at the piano. Chris and The London Quartet first worked together in 2008 in the Tim Rice / ABBA musical Chess in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall starring Josh Groban and Idina Menzel, on which Chris was Musical Associate. Chris has been Musical Director on more than twenty West End shows and is currently Associate Musical Director of the hit musical Hamilton.
