One of London’s major West End stars Cassidy Janson finally releases her debut solo album ‘Cassidy’ on 14th June. Featuring 14 new tracks, 12 co-written by Cassidy and a new song ‘Beat Me To Goodbye’ gifted to her by Carole King, ‘Cassidy’ is a personal selection of songs about life, love, laughter and longing.  Lead track ‘Better’ is an up-tempo killer-chorus tale of wistful memories, relationship goals and what ifs. A version of ‘When A Woman’ also features on the soundtrack of the hit UK film ‘Fisherman’s Friends’.

Born in north London, Cassidy is perhaps best known as the lead in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical - the Tony Award winning and globally successful show based on the life of Carole King, where Cassidy played to an estimated audience of over 500k people. Having declared herself a Cassidy fan, Carole duetted with Cassidy at British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park in July 2016 to a crowd of 65,000 people. Cassidy was also one third of Leading Ladies; a supergroup of West End star vocalists formed by Beverley Knight with Amber Riley to record the album Songs From The Stage. Released in November 2017, Songs From The Stage was certified silver within weeks of release, was a top 20 Christmas chart hit and went on to be nominated for a Classical BRIT Award the following year.

Cassidy has just been announced as a cast member for the English National Opera’s Man of La Mancha, where she will share the stage with Kelsey Grammar and Nicholas Lyndhurst all through May 2019. She is also booked to play Anne Hathaway in the forthcoming Max Martin musical ‘& Juliet’, when it opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London in November this year.
