"Alex Young is very funny as the tipsy bar pick-up, draped in an owl coat that she's only too ready to shed." - Paul Taylor (Independent)

"Perhaps the most stunning supporting work comes from the ever excellent Alex Young who opens the second half hilariously as the drunken Marge, stumbling and fumbling towards a doomed romantic tumble with Baxter." - Jonathan Baz

Alex Young studied music at King's College London before training in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music.
Alex recently finished playing Young Sally to Imelda Staunton's Sally in Dominic Cooke's acclaimed production of Sondheim's 'Follies' at the National Theatre. Other theatre credits include Carrie Pipperidge in 'Carousel' (ENO, London Coliseum); Margie MacDougall in 'Promises, Promises' (Southwark Playhouse - Offie Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress); Ellie May Chipley in 'Show Boat' (Sheffield Crucible and New London Theatre, West End - BroadwayWorld.com Nomination for Best Supporting Actress); Erma in 'Anything Goes' (Sheffield Crucible and UK Tour); Brunhilde in 'I Can't Sing' (London Palladium, West End); Liz Imbrie in 'High Society' (UK Tour); and various nuns in various productions of 'The Sound of Music'.
Alex writes with her best friend Kate Marlais. Their musical 'Here', based on the life of Dadaist artist Kurt Schwitters, won the S&S Award for best new unproduced musical in 2015; their current project 'F**ked in Marrakech' will be featured as part of the BEAM2018 new writing showcase at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in March this year.
