Recently described as “one of the best vocal talents on today’s jazz scene”, much loved Brighton based vocalist Edana Minghella is the kind of singer who pierces your heart.  Performing at festivals and jazz clubs in the UK and Europe, Edana’s talent as a mainstream jazz vocalist has been widely recognised. Her second album, All or Nothing, a collection of songs from Billie Holiday’s repertoire, was released to wide acclaim in 2016. Described as “fantastic from start to end” by Alan Musson of Jazz Breakfast, this and her debut album, Still on My Feet (2011) were both co-produced by the stellar duo Liane Carroll and award-winning music producer James McMillan.

“An extraordinary artist with a beautiful and distinctive voice.”

Margaret Bryant (Devizes Arts)

Influenced by all the divas, from Billie, to Sarah, to Joni, Edana’s live performances showcase her great strengths: raw emotion, a natural story-telling ability, and the power to touch her audience deeply. Her musical choices reflect this unique combination of attributes: expect haunting melodies from the Great American Songbook through to more contemporary songs given a fresh jazz twist.

Performing with Edana tonight are her favourite musical collaborators: the immensely talented pianist, arranger and composer Mark Edwards, former musician of the year Pete Maxfield (double bass) and to Tony Woods on alto sax

Surrender yourself to a unique, intimate evening of gorgeous music from this wonderful vocalist and her musicians. Bring tissues!
