A world-renowned bassist, Gomez has been on the cutting edge of music for more than four decades. His impressive resume includes performances with jazz giants such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, Gerry Mulligan and Benny Goodman. His unique sound and style can be heard on many Grammy-winning records as well as on hundreds of recordings spanning the worlds of jazz, classical, Latin jazz, R&B, and contemporary pop music. The Eddie Gomez Quintet will feature the leader’s creative musical explorations and musical dialogues together with the critically acclaimed soulful Italian saxophonists Marco Pignataro and Renato D’aiello.

Eddie Gomez has been on the cutting edge of music for over four decades. The Latin Grammy Award winner's impressive resumé includes performances with giants such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, and Benny Goodman. His unique sound and style can be heard on hundreds of recordings spanning the worlds of jazz, classical, Latin jazz, R&B, popular, and contemporary music. Gomez grew up in New York and was with the Newport Festival Youth Band from 1959 to 1961. After studying at Juilliard, he played with Rufus Jones's sextet, Marian McPartland, Paul Bley, Giuseppe Logan, Gerry Mulligan, and Gary McFarland, among others. Gomez came to fame during his long period with the Bill Evans Trio. He has since worked in countless settings, including filling in for Charles Mingus and with Steps Ahead, Benny Wallace, JoAnne Brackeen, Jack DeJohnette, and Chick Corea and in commercial settings as a studio musician. Gomez has recorded as a leader for Columbia, ProJazz, and Stretch. His recent recording Duets, co-led with Carlos Franzetti on piano, won Best Instrumental Album at the 10th annual Latin Grammys. His recordings as a leader include Next Future, Outlaws, Live in Moscow, Street Smart, Power Play, Mezgo, Discovery, Gomez, Down Stretch, What's New at F, Palermo, and his critically acclaimed recent release “Per Sempre” (BFM music).  The recordings feature guest artists including Michael Brecker, Richard Tee, Randy Brecker, Al Foster, Steve Gadd, Chick Corea, Jeremy Steig, Jack McDuff, and John Abercrombie. In 2006, his DVD An Evening with Eddie Gomez was released, with Gomez and Mark Kramer performing.

A native of Bologna, Italy, Marco Pignataro has performed extensively across Europe and the Americas in jazz festivals and international music venues, sharing stages and clinics with artists such as Eddie Gomez, JoAnne Brakeen, Rufus Reid, John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, Ben Street, Kenwood Dennard, Antonio Sanchez, Billy Drummond, Clark Terry, Billy Hart, and Jon Faddis, among others. His debut CD, Sofia's Heart, was produced by jazz legend Eddie Gomez and features Pignataro's compositions and arrangements. His latest 2018 release “Almas Antiguas “(Zoho Music)  received 4&1/2 stars by Downbeat and was featured on CNN en Espanol and Jazz@Linclon Center. His song ‘Letter to My Son” was finalist in the 2019 International Songwriting Competition. Marco also appears in the critically acclaimed CD Per Sempre by the Eddie Gomez Quintet. Together with Danilo Perez, Marco currently leads the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), the world premiere jazz center of musical creativity at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Pignataro is a D'addario Woodwind performing artist, and endorser for Mauriat & Lupifaro saxophones and for the Applied Microphone Technology. 

Tenor sax, Composer, Producer, Educator born In Naples, Italy resident in London since 1999 Renato D’Aiello has become known as one of the strongest and most beautiful saxophone sounds around. His treatments of jazz standards, and originals, both live and on cd, have won great admiration from audiences and the press. Renato studied with masters such as Sal Nistico, Tony Scott, Steve Grossman . He has played with great jazzmen like: Art Farmer,Sal Nistico, Steve Grossman, Eddie Duran, Kirk Lightsey, Keith Copeland, Duffy Jackson, Tony Scott, Jim Mullen, Bruce Forman, Gene Calderazzo, Phil Lee, G.Husband., Alain jean Marie.

He has played in most of the major venues and festivals in the UK and around the world, and since May 2002 he has played several times in Paris, receiving warm acclaim from Jazz Hot magazine and TSF radio. Since July 2010 Renato has been running a very successful Monday night upstairs at Ronnie Scott in London and a few other resident gigs like ”Primo bar” at The Plaza Hotel in Westminster,London, Toulouse Lautrec, Spice Of Life. Renato performs regularly at PizzaExpress Dean Street in London and many other of the best clubs in UK.
