After their 2016 London Jazz Festival success at Pizza Express Jazz Club and their recent sold out performance at The Vortex Jazz Club, award-winning South African singer/songwriter Estelle Kokot & British cellist/vocalist, Kate Shortt are back and presenting their show at The Pheasantry. Completing the double bill will be singer/pianist Joseph Paice, in his first appearance back in Chelsea since the sell out 'Tom Waits Songbook'.

This unique pairing sees Kokot and Shortt sharing the stage in equal measures. Kate brings her strong improvisational skills to the fore and Estelle adds her powerful South African grooves to the mix.

Estelle and Kate will be showcasing their own material and a repertoire that spans the decades, from Bach to the blues to bebop, with original arrangements of Charlie Parker compositions and more. Expect a deeply soulful and entertaining jazz journey with plenty of musical surprises and outstanding musicianship rooted strongly in the jazz tradition with a modern twist!

JOSEPH PAICE

Joseph Paice is a singer, songwriter and pianist. His album 'Wonderstruck' was produced by Portishead bass player Jim Barr and featured the horn section from award winning Bristol group, Get the Blessing. Joseph has performed at many top jazz clubs in the UK, and has also worked behind the scenes on music projects for organisations like the British Council, Jazz Services, Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, London Jazz Festival, Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival (USA), Europe Jazz Network, UK Trade & Investment, Jazz at Lincoln Center (USA), and many more. He also 'moonlights' as Programming Manager of PizzaExpress Live.
