Experienced performers Jivestar are no strangers to the street of Soho. They've performed a stone's throw away from PizzaExpress on the main stage at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and regularly at jazz venue The Spice of Life also in Soho. They've had a residency at Poppies in Camden for over three years and perform at countless theatre shows and special events across the country. The band are quickly building a reputation as a high energy swingin', jivin' band with interesting arrangements and incredible vocalists.
Band leader Fliss Gorst enjoys success as a saxophonist, band leader, composer and arranger. As well as running Jivestar Fliss is Musical Director for the show 'Celebrating Bond'. She composes and performs with her smaller jazz ensemble 'The Fliss Gorst Quartet' and regularly hosts the Vandoren Jazz Jam at The Spice Of Life. Fliss endorses Vandoren reeds. Renowned for her big tenor saxophone sound and 'gorgeous phrases' (London Jazz News) Fliss is a lively, enthusiastic band leader who likes to ensure everyone in the room is having just as much fun as her!
Fliss will be joined by vocalists Shane Hampsheir and Lauren Bush. Swing supremo Shane is a force to be reckoned with. He is widely recognised within the music industry as a highly accomplished and respected swing vocalist. Once seen never forgotten, Shane's 'instantly likeable' (The Upcoming) personality and easy onstage manner make him a sure fire hit.
Jivestar's female vocalist Lauren Bush has just released her debut album with the help of award winning vocalist Ian Shaw as producer. It premiered at PizzaExpress Dean Street and has been touring Europe this Summer! Lauren's laid back charm and sultry vocals add a touch of class to this splendid ensemble.
