Flying Machines combine visceral improvisation with anthemic melodies and lusciously textured soundscapes, influenced by Wayne Krantz, Tigran Hamasyan and Animals as Leaders. From thundering, all out metal assaults, to ambient meditations and plaintive melodies, the band’s trademark fusion of contemporary jazz with progressive rock and explosive live performances have seen them become one of the most thrilling acts to have emerged from the UK contemporary jazz scene. The band features guitarist and band leader Alex Munk, pianist Matt Robinson, bassist Conor Chaplin and drummer Dave Hamlett.
