Best known for standards such as 'Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most' (1952) and 'Ballad of the Sad Young Men' (1959), lyricist Fran Landesman spent the last 17 years of her life writing with UK composer Simon Wallace - "an enduring creative relationship that produced some of her finest work" (The Guardian). Sarah Moule became their mouthpiece and muse recording four highly acclaimed CDs and Ian Shaw, widely regarded as the UK's finest male jazz vocalist, was an enthusiastic champion. In 2011, with Simon Wallace on piano, he recorded 'A Ghost In Every Bar, The Lyrics Of Fran Landesman'. This special London Jazz Festival show marks the official launch of the 'Fran Landesman & Simon Wallace Songbook.

"On 'A Ghost In Every Bar' one of the finest singers in contemporary music interprets some of the greatest songs of the last 50 years."

Bruce Lindsay, All About Jazz

"Sarah Moule, Simon Wallace and Fran Landesman made a perfect trio of talents. Wallace's music exactly echoes her unsettling but deceptively simple lyrics, and Moule's cool voice brings them both to elegant life." Dave Gelly, The Observer
