A passionate, colourful, and evocative night of rich music imbued with the explosive rhythms of Latin America. Virtuoso drummer/percussionist/composer, Francesco Petreni, has played with great musicians like Marc Johnson, Johnny Griffin, Palle Danielsson, Mal Waldron, Ivan Lins, Eddie Henderson, Claudio Roditi, George Cables and Avishai Cohen. Petreni has participated in hundreds of international festivals, and concerts all over Europe Cuba and Brazil, often as director, arranger and conductor of the Bandao Percussion Orchestra.

Composer and leader of "SDEONG", a sextet of percussions, voices and dance.

Since 2001 he has been professor at the International Siena Jazz International Workshops, and he is teacher of Jazz Basic Course and Advanced Jazz Drums Technics e at the Conservatory of Livorno.  Since 2010 he has been teaching and performing on Global Music Foundation courses and events.

He holds a degree in Letters and Music History, and in 2008 he took a Superior Conservatory Degree in Jazz, and published his thesis: " The Improvvisation in Brasilian Music".

He has composed and arranged for ballets (Motus Dance) chamber music (Conservatory of Livorno) and original compositions for "Carmina Burana in Jazz".

He has been a teacher and performer at many courses and drum and percussion workshops all over Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
