This two hour show includes the classic Bossa & West Coast Cool that Stan Getz was so renowned for. Stan Getz is the man who brought the Girl From Ipanema to the world. Man of Bossa, Man of Cool. Hear Stan Getz’s musical story unfold....the hype, his beauty and his soulful collaborations with some of jazz’s greatest giants. The show, with full rhythm section includes Bossa classics like Corcovada; The Jazz fusion of Chick Corea’s La Fiesta and Jazz Standards How Deep is The Ocean. A must for Jazz & Bossa saxophone lovers.

When Ian Shaw recorded his album dedicated to the work of Fran Landesman he asked Sue to guest on it following the success of their recording of Humphrey Lyttleton’s Sad Sweet Song.

Touring with big bands by the age of 16, Sue’s musical journey has seen her gigging in over 50 countries in hotels, jazz clubs and on cruise ships. You can even hear her recorded version of The Girl From Ipanema being played in Rio in the famous bar
where the song was written. She has worked for the BBC, performing at The Last Night of The Proms and gaining a Blue Peter badge for her singing.

Performs in London on the jazz & world music scene – The Bulls Head Barnes, Ronnie Scott’s, Black’s, Pheasantry Crazy Coqs, Hampton Court & Leighton House.

She has performed at many festivals – Latitude, R.I.S.E, Glastonbury, the Edinburgh Festival, Brighton Pride, the Royal Festival Hall, Dunkirk Mardi Gras, the North London Marathon, on The Thames City Cruises boats.

Internationally she has played on yachts for Formula 1, in Cuba, Milan, Bologna, Rome, Berlin and Southern Bohemia. Currently performing with David McAlmonts ‘Billie Holiday’ Show and as the producer of ‘Piaf Remembered’ with BBC ‘All Together Now’ star judge, Oriana Curls. Katy also writes & produces original material for contemporary dance. As a multiinstrumentalist, Katy has collaborated with composers Alan D Boyd (Day of the Triffids, Horizon), Dan Mulhern (BBC, Silent Witness, Heir Hunters, Channel 4) Other collaborations include a BBC documentary with Les Zoings for Royal Academy artists Bob and Roberta Smith, and the play Blue Blouse at the The Royal Academy with ‘The New Factory of the Eccentric Actor.’

The musicians in the band also take centre stage with well thought-out solo spots. The tightly-knit band have taken their special brand of modern jazz with a main stream twist to many venues on the national and international circuits.
