Last Show: Sunday 7 th May 2017

PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Gill Manly, a jewel in the crown of British Jazz and Blues, performs with her acoustic blues musicians, Trevor Hyett mandolin mandola), and Thomas Coffey (acoustic guitar).  She is a regular headliner at Ronnie Scott’s, famously with her critically acclaimed show “Portrait of Nina Simone”. The rich tradition of blues and gospel music was always a huge love. Gill’s eclectic approach to song choice means she has delved into composers such as Dory Previn, Doc Pomus, Bill Withers, Percy Mayfield, as well as Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Mississippi Fred MacDowell.  Expect, joy, foot-stomping and passion, and laughter, laced with gorgeous harmonies.
