“Outside of the piano, Jaco Pastorius is my favourite instrumentalist in the history of Jazz, but his legacy stretches far beyond the boundaries of any one genre. He revolutionised the role of the electric bass in a unique way, developing the instrument from its traditional role as 'goalkeeper' to one where he played melodies, chords, and any manner of special effects and sounds. We're playing tribute to Jaco, his legacy, and also his influence on the legendary band Weather Report, whose own golden period coincided with Jaco's time in the group.
