Tonight’s shows feature a special preview of Ian’s newly recorded music, due for release this Spring. Co-written with Jamie Safir (piano), the songs draw inspiration from Shaw’s early musical influences (Bowie, Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, early Elton John, Billy Joel, Rickie-Lee Jones) and are autobiographical portraits of places and people: 1980s London, New York, loving and losing, basement bars, poets, friendships, lovers, near-escapes and far-away places. This is soulful, funky, bold new music. The line-up includes the legendary UK drummer, Ian Thomas, with Conor Chaplin (bass), David Preston (guitars) and further special guests.
