Event Has Passed

Last Show: Thursday 22 nd November 2018

The Pheasantry (Chelsea)

For this London Jazz Festival gig, ISQ are thrilled to announce the release of their brand new single ‘Ode To Myself’. The quartet will also be performing songs from their first two critically-acclaimed albums and previewing new material from their much-anticipated third album, set for release in Spring 2019. Expect an eclectic mix of jazz, pop, acoustic and experimental sounds from this post-jazz outfit. ISQ are Irene Serra (vocals) and Richard Sadler (double bass). With Chris Nickolls (drums) and John Crawford (piano), they take a conventional jazz line up of vocals, piano, double bass and drums and add their own, very open, approach to their original music.

Time Out London Critics Choice

Revelling in live performance, they embrace “the song” as an improvisational framework to move into different – sometimes unexpected- sonic directions and moods. The band members have performed in prestigious venues such as the Barbican Centre, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Union Chapel in Islington, Kings Place, the Hackney Empire and the National Theatre. Their second studio album “TOO” was a Time Out London Critics Choice in 2015 and has seen them firmly establish a reputation as a formidable emerging force in terms of both creativity and performance.
