Soulful and multi-cultural singer-songwriter Iryna Parr, returns to PizzaExpress in a duo project with one of Cuba’s finest London-based guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas. Iryna´s new program is based on the writing of two of Russia’s greatest poets: Anna Akhmatova and Marina Tsevetaeva.

Both poets, Anna Akhmatova and Marina Tsevetaeva, legends of their time in the Soviet Union, were persecuted by that regime because of their 'eroticism, mysticism, and political indifference.' Anna, a blonde, nicknamed 'an Egyptian boy' and Marina a brunette femme fatal, 'the beauty of the beginning of the century.' Anna was adoring Marina but was ignored in return. Their lives went in parallel and yet were united by the very turbulent times they lived in and their poetry will speak directly to your heart. Discover their two tales in a unique evening of sensuous decadence. Expect a show where jazz meets cabaret full of passion and political irony that transcends space and time.
