James Tormé 'Color Me Jazz'

One of our favourite artists, American jazz-singing star James Tormé returns from Los Angeles for his 'Color Me Jazz'  tour, backed by his new Soho Stars Quartet (featuring London heavies Robin Aspland, Brandon Allen, Martyn Kayne and Tim Thornton. "The best male jazz singer to come along in 20 years", according to Chuck Mitchell, the President of Sony Classics, Tormé will preview songs from his new album 'Strange Little Planet' as well as material from his upcoming 'Songs Of My Father' TV special (starring George Benson, Take 6, Dave Koz and many more) which tapes later this year. A performer with immense resources, James will keep your attention in a way that only a great entertainer can. Definitely not to be missed!

Tormé is "the best male jazz singer to come along in 20 years" according to long time Verve Records president, Chuck Mitchell, the man who first discovered him.

Having grown up spending time with a myriad of jazz legends (Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington, George Shearing, Buddy Rich & more), one begins to understand why jazz comes naturally to Tormé. As he explains it himself “There's no question, I absorbed a lot from my dad, and his peers.” This is clear as soon as one hears his singing style, which draws from the 'old school', but with modern styling that makes him still sound current.
