“...The hard-to-achieve balance between scored ensemble and improvisation is perfect.”

The Observer

Working with musicians such as Percy Pursglove and Robbie Robson in various ensembles run by Mike Gibbs inspired Rattigan to form his own 12-piece band, named Pavillon after the French word for the bell of the French horn. The band features saxophonists Martin Speake, Andy Panayi and Mick Foster; Percy Pursglove, Robbie Robson and Steve Fishwick on trumpet, trombones Mark Nightingale and Sarah Williams, pianist Hans Koller, double bassist Dave Whitford and Gene Calderazzo on drums. “(Jim Rattigan) leads an A-list cast of Brit-based jazzers that make up Pavillon” Jazzwise
