Joe Tatton Trio featuring ‘Rodina’- A tribute for Mose Allison

Event Has Passed

Last Show: Tuesday 19 th April 2022

PizzaExpress Jazz Club (Soho)

Singer and songwriter Joe Tatton, will perform material from the new album 'Big Fish', that is  inspired by his musical hero Mose Allison, who performed regularly for many decades on this stage at Dean Street. The new recording showcases Joe’s talent as both pianist and singer and now confirms his talent as a songwriter. These powerful and uplifting songs are inspired by the sardonic wit and dry sense of humour, that is evident throughout the work of blues and jazz legend Mose Allison, together with his insightful commentary on todays social and political landscape.

Joe Tatton has been a member of The New Mastersounds for 16 years and also The Haggis Horns. He has also worked with Corinne Bailey Rae, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and Art Neville.

His set at Dean Street, will showcase songs from the new album together with a couple of Mose Allison classic songs, along with soul-jazz grooves and will feature both the awesome vocal talent of ‘Rodina’ and the masterful flautist Gareth Lockrane as Joe’s special guests, for this exciting album launch.
