Blues Matters

John Verity has been one of the most consistent performers on the British blues rock circuit for many years. Spending time in the US opening for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Mountain and many others he then moved on to become the frontman with Argent. After they decided to stop touring, John formed Phoenix with two of his fellow Argent bandmates, Bob Henrit and Jim Rodford. Then John spent time primarily in the studio recording and guesting with among others Colin Blunstone, Ringo Starr, Saxon and The Zombies.

John is now consistently 'back on the road' and experiencing somewhat of a musical renaissance and gaining new fans, young and old wherever he goes and delighting audiences at venues across the UK. Nothing compares to seeing John Verity live as John’s guitar playing and singing are a joy to behold. What marks him out from others is his timing and feel which are close to perfection and you are left in no doubt that you are in the hands of a proper musician and vocalist.

John has also produced albums for many diverse musicians and is currently working on his own 21st album release, due to coincide with his 50th anniversary in 2020.

And in conclusion from John in his own words:- 'Even though I have played at so many venues and festivals across the world in the last 50 years this will be my first live appearance at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho and I'm delighted to be bringing my band here. Whatever I do is always going to have a blues edge and I feel that this is the thread which ties it all together and I cannot wait to bring my music to you all at the start of my 50th Anniversary Celebrations.'
