PizzaExpress Live (Holborn)

Singer-songwriter, storyteller and Hammond organ donor, Joshua Burnell grew up in various locations between France and Scotland. He now resides in York, but everyone assumes he's from Rivendell. At some point, English folk, prog, contemporary classical, and vintage pop-rock all got mixed up and everyone had a great time so he decided to make a career of it.

Linda Moylan is a  London-based Irish-born songstress. Linda’s family immigrated in to London’s East End in the 1980s. A natural singer, songwriter and storyteller, her lyrical narrative is comparable to that of authors, poets and playwrights with a strong visual essence, stimulating the listener’s own imagination. Her music explores a wide array of themes from forgotten fateful stories and uncelebrated heroines of the past to her own personal and family.  Linda is poetic while still being brutally honest and personal. Her pure and raw vocals beautifully convey a nostalgic lyrical narrative, her warm endearing vocals drawing the listener into her musical story telling.

"[Joshua] We think this is great"

Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

Joshua Burnell

Joshua sparked the interest of the folk world with his ambitious Seasons Project which saw him release one of his folk-rock arrangements of a traditional song or tune every week for a year. Fourteen favourites formed Joshua’s release, Songs From The Seasons, released on the 4th May 2018. RnR Magazine gave the album a solid 5/5 rating and commented, “this isn’t about academic research, it’s about playing the music, which is what Joshua does exceptionally well."

On 15th February, Joshua followed Songs From The Seasons with another folk-rock offering – The Road To Horn Fair. The album has been played numerous times on both The Folk Show on BBC Radio 2, and on the Tom Robinson Show on BBC Radio 6, in addition to widespread region radio play and glowing reviews (5/5 Northern Sky Mag).

As a live act, Joshua tours as part of his 6-piece band who have gone down a storm at festivals, including Folkeast, Music On The Marr, Musicport & Beardy Folk Festival. In 2019, the band are setting off on their first headline tour including dates in London (Cecil Sharp House), Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Bath, Cardiff & Hull. Later in the year, the band will be heading to Europe for a two-week tour (dates to be announced). ?
