Building on the success of critically acclaimed release ‘Tone Poetry’ (2014), the latest CD from saxophonist Josh Kemp is accompanied by a major UK tour with his new Hammond Organ based ensemble. Seven original compositions are heard alongside three standards, and a well-known Bach theme.

A versatile musician with a rare gift for melody, gaining many plaudits for his lyrical improvising style and attractive compositions, Josh is equally happy playing in the jazz standards tradition or original compositions in a contemporary style.

The CD delivers high-energy jazz with an enjoyable and relaxed groove, taking inspiration from the classic era of Blue-Note jazz, combined with contemporary inflections of rhythm and harmony, all delivered with style and quality from a band of top-class musicians.
