Powerhouse seven-piece group, J-Sonics, have been wowing audiences with their genre-hopping blend of jazz, Latin, Brazilian, Afrobeat and funk for the past five years. Coming hot on the heels of their high-energy shows at Ronnie Scott’s, South Coast Jazz Festival and Canary Wharf Jazz Festival, the band return to PizzaExpress Jazz Club to play a mix of retooled Latin and Brazilian jazz classics by the likes of Ed Motta, Flora Purim and Mongo Santamaría alongside their own groove-laden originals as heard on their acclaimed debut album, 'Different Orbits'. Featuring stunning Spanish vocalist Graciela Rodriguez, the band includes some of London’s leading players including trumpeter Chris Caulfield, saxophonist Matt Telfer, guitarist Clement Regert, bassist/bandleader Mike Flynn, drummer Gabor Dornyei and percussionist Jon Newey.

With a wide range of collective experience J-Sonics' band members are all hugely respected musicians both as in-demand sidemen and acclaimed solo artists and have worked with numerous leading musicians. Rising star Hungarian drummer Gabor Dornyei is an internationally recognised clinician for Pearl drums and also tours widely with his own Thunder Duo group and renowned jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan. Trumpeter Chris Caulfield is a busy London session and jazz player, while Matt Telfer's regular monthly Vandoren jam night at The Spice of Life and his own Blakey Boys project have put these dynamite horn players at the heart of the London jazz scene. Guitarist Clement Regert's many sessions and gigs with the likes of Liane Carroll and Dennis Rollins along with his critically acclaimed Wild Card group sees him working with some of the UK's finest musicians. Bassist Mike Flynn has worked with many leading jazz, world and funk musicians also writes and producing his own music in a variety of projects. Percussionist Jon Newey was a founding member of England's Glory with whom he recorded two albums. He toured and recorded with Crew, south London jazz funk legends Jabba, the Chris Jagger Band and other session dates. London based Latin-jazz singer-songwriter Graciela Rodriguez is a world-class vocalist with high musical studies in classical and jazz. Originally from Spain, she has performed with Iceland super-star Björk and is currently the lead singer of salsa maestro Roberto Pla & His Latin Ensemble and the Yes!!! Brazil Show in the UK.
