Broadcaster & jazz vocalist Jumoké Fashola returns to PizzaExpress Jazz Club to sing revolutionary music that has been a catalyst for social change around the world. ‘Protest!’ celebrates the power of music to inspire, and includes early African-American spirituals, jazz, reggae and 21st century revolutionary song, performed by the likes of Nina Simone, Pete Seeger, Miriam Makeba and Bob Dylan. Jumoké has sung most musical forms, from Handel to Gershwin, gospel to Bernstein. She currently presents Inspirit with Jumoké Fashola, BBC Radio London’s Sunday Breakfast magazine programme.
