Broadcaster & jazz vocalist Jumoké Fashola, returns to The Pheasantry to sing revolutionary music that has been a catalyst for social change around the world. Following sold out shows at PizzaExpress, Dean Street and the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room, Jumoké Fashola brings her 'Protest! Divas & Revolution' to The Pheasantry as part of the 2017 EFG London Jazz Festival. Protest! Celebrates the power of music to inspire, from early African-American spirituals, Jazz, Reggae to 21c revolutionary song, performed by the likes of Nina Simone, Pete Seeger, Miriam Makeba, Bob Dylan. ‘The revolution will not be televised’, come and hear some of the greatest songs written about human struggle. Jumoké has sung most musical forms, from Handel to Gershwin, Gospel to Bernstein. She currently presents Inspirit with Jumoké Fashola, BBC Radio London’s Sunday Breakfast magazine programme.
