Join us for Jumoke Fashola's 'Dirty Little Secrets', AKA 'The Blues' on Sunday 19th June 2016 at The Pheasantry, London as she tells the story, accompanied by her trio, of raunchy and lecherous blues, from 1920s gems through to contemporary song. Ditties that are titillating and salacious, this is no show for blushing maidens or the fainthearted.

Celebrating the blues in all its feisty glory, jazz singer Jumoké Fashola’s, ‘Dirty Little Secrets’, reveals the stories behind of some of the raunchiest songs written by songwriters such as Andy Razaf & Stephen Sondheim, and performed by singers such as Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter & Nina Simone. Dirty Little Secrets has been performed at London’s Crazy Coq’s as part of the London Festival of Cabaret 2015, at the the Bush Theatre’s Radar Festival 2015 and most recently at St James Theatre Studio.

Jumoké has sung most musical forms, from Handel to Gershwin to Gospel to Bernstein, at venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the London Arena. Her solo repertoire comprises an edgy blend of jazz, R&B and soul, eloquently expressed and dynamically delivered. Time Out Magazine describes her as a “Head-spinningly versatile singer". Her debut album, ‘The Condition of Being A Woman’ was released in 2014. She is the creator and host of the monthly Jazz Verse Jukebox held
for the last 7 years at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club (Upstairs) London. She currently presents Inspirit with Jumoké Fashola, BBC London 94.9’s Sunday Breakfast magazine programme. Her TV credits include the Holiday Programme (BBC1), Summer Holiday (BBC1) Summer Praise (BBC1).
