Kadri Voorand and Mihkel Mälgand have formed a duo, playing skillfully composed original music for piano, bass and voice that's open for improvisation and uses ambient electronic effects, while using both Estonian poetry and original lyrics. They have previously played together at festivals including EFG London Jazz Festival, Pori Jazz, Tampere Jazz Happening, Bratislava Jazz Days, Bejing Nine Gates Jazz Festival or Südtirol Jazz Festival. Kadri Voorand is a well-established vocalist and composer from Estonia, who’s original music and expression have earned her a number of prizes and performances in Estonia as well as in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Russia, Uzbekistan, Israel and Greece.  In 2017 she won the Estonian Music Award for Best Female Artist of the Year and Best Jazz Album of the Year for her album “Armupurjus” (“Love Intoxication”). She has also won Young Jazz Talent and Danske Jazz awards.

Mihkel Mälgand is one of the most active bass players in Estonia, who has played with leading jazz artists like Nils Landgren, Dave Liebman, Raivo Tafenau, Randy Brecker, Tim Hagans, Kurt Elling and many more. He has recorded over 80 albums. Mälgand won the Danske Jazz Award 2018, which is given to the best jazz artist of the year in Estonia.
