Kasia grew up in a musical family and began her career aged 8 playing lead roles in productions at the Musical Theatre in her hometown Lublin. While taking part in various jazz workshops in her early teens, Kasia fell in love with jazz and soul, and early influences Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill remain a source of inspiration today. Inspired by her older brother, she gravitated towards hip-hop and RnB and soaked in the music of D’Angelo, J Dilla, Mos Def and Erykah Badu.
She started releasing her music in 2020 and has received great reviews, radio plays and support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC London, Jazz FM, Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio, Worldwide FM, Bandcamp, Soho Radio, Japanese J-Wave, Brazilian Alpha FM and South African YFM, just to name a few.
She’s recently supported Richard Spaven at The Jazz Café and played at We Out Here 2021. She also headlined Greenwich Peninsula Jazz Weekender, PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Pop Brixton and Royal Albert Dock as part of EFG London Jazz Festival, Wildpaths Festival (Norwich) and many more.
Kasia is also a part of Tomorrow's Warriors Female Frontline and the new disco-jazz collective, All Day Breakfast Cafe where she plays flute. She has performed at many festivals, including Field Day, Love Supreme, Wilderness, Standon Calling, and Brainchild Festival, as well as prestigious music venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and during EFG London Jazz Festival at Cadogan Hall supporting Monty Alexander.
