“This artist’s interpretation made the songs feel real, fresh and untouched…This is how it’s done.”

As well as singing selections from her No1 records such as her versions of On The Street Where You Live from My Fair Lady and Into The Wood’s No One Is Alone, you’ll also hear new arrangements, the likes of Company’s Marry Me A Little and Sweet Charity’s “Where Am I Going?”.  Songs from the shows have always featured heavily in jazz and Katie Birtill shines brightly when combining her two loves on stage.

Katie is known for her warm and versatile vocals, heartfelt storytelling and dynamic performance. She has led to a wide-ranging career, performing in many different capacities from intimate jazz sets in London's top clubs to being a concert soloist with orchestras in some of the UK's most prestigious concert halls.

Both her album Baby, Dream Your Dream and EP Something’s Coming went to number 1 in the iTunes Jazz Album Chart. Off the back of their success she’s enjoyed crafting shows as a jazz/cabaret artist to create dynamic and joyful experiences for audiences in sold out shows and festivals.

Upcoming orchestral soloist dates in 2022 include: Simply Sinatra with London Concert Orchestra at The Royal Festival Hall (27th February), Broadway and All That Jazz with The Hallé Orchestra (4th March), The Way We Were: A Tribute to Barbra Streisand on her 80th Birthday with The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (23rd April) and also with The BBC Concert Orchestra for a special Sunday Night Is Music Night radio programme.

She is one of the lead singers for The Down For The Count Swing Orchestra with whom she performs at festivals, jazz clubs and concert halls, such as Twinwood Festival, Ronnie Scotts and The Cadogan Hall.

Some favourite session works include: The John Wilson Orchestra’s Cole Porter in Hollywood (Maida Vale Singers) and London Symphony Orchestra and Bing Crosby’s Bing At Christmas (Voxaphonic). She has been singing with Annie Skates and Capital Voices for 12 years providing vocals on some fantastic projects for many popular artists, film soundtracks and live concerts/tours.

Katie has also enjoyed a fruitful musical theatre career playing leading roles. Credits include: Tell Me On A Sunday (The Old Laundry Theatre), Princess Hannah in The Knights of The Rose (Arts Theatre London), Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert (UK Tour), Charity Hope Valentine in Sweet Charity and Cathy in The Last Five Years (The New Wolsey Theatre), Madeline in By Jeeves (Old Laundry Theatre).
