30th March 2020 Line-Up:

Helene Greenwood
Helene Greenwood has performed extensively on the London scene, including the Union Chapel with performers such as Martyn Barker and  (Goldfrapp) and Arnulf Lindner. She has released two albums Collectable You (2013 produced by Calum McColl)) and Exquisitely Hopeless (2016, Alex Reeves Drums, Bat for Lashes).

This is a night to look forward and to look back.   She will perform songs form these albums as well as new songs from her latest project called Tenderness. Her vocals are haunted by the vintage sounds of torch singers, like Nina Simone and Mitski. It is music that is propelled by melodies that plays with a mix of alternative pop, jazz and folk. With the band there are moments of release and mystery, always returning to the life form of the song.

NNENNA KING
NNENNA KING a 22 year old vocalist and Songwriter from East London, praised for having a soulful voice beyond her years. Raised in East Ham, Newham, KING spent her youth listening to the soul stirring sounds her parents and siblings would play around the house, from the likes of Fela Kuti, Miles Davis and Anita Baker to Queen and even Kanye west. KING started singing at the tender age of 6 years old and knew she wanted to be a singer, singing on the big stage. As her interest in music grew, her desire to become a singer grew even greater and began forming her own musical taste. Her mum played a big part in nurturing her gift by supporting her, financing the various music lessons and taking her around London to perform. In 2011 she gained a place at the prestigious BRIT SCHOOL for music and spent four year developing her craft. Today, NNENNA KING’s music draws inspiration from the likes of Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Anita Baker, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder.

Steo Wall
Not everybody can boast such collaborators as Luka Bloom, Damien Dempsey and Davey Spillane on there debut album but when you meet Steo Wall for the first time you quickly understand why such great musicians wanted to get involved with ‘Where I’m From’ – Steo’s debut album. A sound bloke, quick to laugh with a rich Dublin accent and the wit to go with it; Steo's debut album boasts eleven heartfelt biographical tracks that radio dj’s will lap up. Combining painted narratives, unique acoustic tunings, soaring harmonies with a tender falsetto, creating the most arresting and intimate performance experiences. Reminiscent of Joni Mitchel's melodic movement, Fraser’s passion for design weaves throughout his music. Audiences have described his live performances as deeply moving and uplifting, and for some “the best gig they have ever been to."
