Come to see tomorrow’s biggest stars as they begin their journey to fame! This month's show features Verity White, Chess Galea, Dice Phoenix and Lauren Lucille.

10th September

Verity White

Verity White takes influence from the 90s rock scene and twists it up using synths, strings and her intricate vocal lines to create brutal yet beautiful, melodic rock songs - loved by fans of Nine Inch Nails, Veruca Salt, Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and Skunk Anansie. Recently, Verity and her band have been impressing gig-goers at festivals (Lechlade, FeckFest, Frogfest) and live music venues (The Troubadour, Mr Wolfs, The Islington, Notting Hill Arts Club) and they’re now planning their second U.K. tour in Spring 2019, to accompany a new album The debut album, Breaking Out, was successfully fully-funded on Kickstarter and came out in Winter 2017. This was preceded by two EPs (Parentheses in 2016 and Stripped Bare in 2017, and a double a-side single Too Much / Look Inside, 2017.) Own Me, the first single from the new album is out now, with a second due at the start of September 2018. Having spent a few years touring the world as a backing vocalist with the prog-rock group Pendragon, and even supporting them on their 2017 European tour, Verity has plenty of stage presence and experience, and the live shows with her full band continue to grab audiences attention. Verity writes with her husband, producer and guitarist Alex White and is joined by Joe Kelly and Alex McIntosh on stage. Verity is well engaged in the music scene in the U.K. and uses her strong social media presence to actively support mental health awareness, the arts and female empowerment.

Chess Galea

Chess Galea was originally exposed to classical music, day in day out, as the piano was constantly being played at her childhood home, where she also began to learn to play the piano. A young Chess then looked through her mother's CD collection, to find a 'Queen' album, which sparked her true ambition - singing and performing. Dancing since she was 2, Chess really knows how to own a stage and her live performances are not to be missed. She has performed at Silvana New York, The Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi, and The Roundhouse London, to name a few. Chess is also a songwriter and regularly pens songs for artists all over the world, as well as writing her own songs. Her song 'Rise' independently reached number 40 in the iTunes Charts last year, and she has been a semi-finalist in the UK songwriting contest, twice. Chess is now learning to play the bass guitar, her favourite instrument, to add something extra to her live show. Her influences include Prince, Freddy Mercury, Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys. In 2018 Chess appeared on the BBC One Prime Time Show 'All Together Now' and has been supported by BBC Introducing.

“I loved your performance, it was strong and sassy and you have a great voice!”
Geri Halliwell (Spice Girls)

Dice Phoenix

Hot on the heels of her successful single launch party, Dice takes to the stage at the prestigious showcase at Pizza Express; a sought after slot for all unsigned artists. With her unique blend of pop and urban, Dice gathers fans wherever she goes and is on the rise in the industry. Dice’s eloquent performance style, mixed with her classy sense of style and hit songs in-waiting make this one not to miss before she hits the big time. It may be one of the last chances to see her perform in a smaller, intimate venue. A Londoner through and through, Dice Phoenix was born to be a star; and is making all the right moves to do just that. From staging a super-successful single release party through to performing at Pizza Express live (on September 10th) the bookings keep coming in- including performing both the UK and US national anthems at a basketball match in September!
There are big plans for Dice and her first EP will be released in due course; ensure you follow her social media to keep up to date with all her going-ons.
