24th June 2019 Line-Up

Matthew Shepherd

Matthew Shepherd is a 24 year-old singer-songwriter who has been delighting audiences in the UK and beyond with his collection of self penned songs. With concert and festival performances plus 2 European tours under his belt, Matthew released his second studio album 'Waiting Up At Night' in July 2018 - warm, gentle and affecting folk music from the heart.

“A rising Star…and a really lovely guy too! The crowd were mesmerised”  – Janice Long, BBC Radio Wales

Frances Salter 'Good Canary'

Good Canary sings gallows-humour lyrics over electro-pop riffs: she believes that, like a canary in a coalmine, a song can be an excellent warning. She's been featured by BBC Radio 6 and regularly plays and hosts DIY shows in London and Oxford.

Her first EP, 'Afraid to Dance', is out in July on Gare du Nord (Deerful, Ralegh Long) and is produced by Grace Banks (Austra, Let's Eat Grandma, Max Richter).

She's been compared to St Vincent, Victoria Wood, and "a woman about to go postal with the contents of the cutlery drawer" (Nightshift Magazine), and will happily be described as anything other than 'quirky.' She's a pianist at heart but she uses Ableton and various tiny synths to create a weird sonic world.

You'll laugh, but you'll also be unsettled.

Tom King

Tom King, an 18 year old up & coming artist, inspired by the soulful voices of Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross, is a passionate singer / songwriter.  Tom has a special knack for telling compelling stories, with a unique style that slices reality with imagination, and taps right into his inner feelings and emotions.

You’ll hear this in his debut single "Why Are You Here", co-written and produced by Paul Aiden, who will be performing with Tom at Pizza Express on 24th June.

Tom is definitely one of the most exciting new prospects coming up in 2019.
