"I've been moaning that I couldn't find enough to say about these singers, then along comes a great CD which is different and gives me more than enough to comment on."

Bebop Spoken Here

Lucinda was awarded a Jazz South commission in 2021 and awarded 'Breakthrough Composer’. She was commissioned to write an exciting and visual piece exploring the River Thames near to her home in the beautiful Berkshire countryside. Lucinda will be performing ‘Riverways’ as part of this absorbing album tour. Expect music encompassing a variety of genres and topics and maybe more importantly an elegant, smokey voice to leave you wanting more.

An established vocal coach (she runs her own music school in Berkshire with partner double bassist Stuart Barker), she strives always to make her own music and interpretation of songs accessible to fans of all genres. Her vitality, on stage presence and clear Jazz influences are equalled by her command of Soul and Blues performance.

An accomplished musician, her infatuation with jazz music began when she was awarded a full scholarship to attend The Montgomery Jazz course with Laurie Holloway. A successful audition for The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (Jazz Vocals) followed.

Lucinda has played at some of the country's leading festivals and venues; including Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Mostly Jazz,Funk and Soul, Bedford River Festival, Zero Degrees Festival, Piano Bar Soho, The Bloomsbury, Boisdale venues, Symphony Hall Foyer Birmingham, The Jam House and The Hare and Hounds.
