Luísa Rocha is a leading exponent of the mysterious beauty and overwhelming power of fado. Already by the age of 12, she was a regular performer on the circuit of collectives, parties and contest. Her sense of destiny overcame initial resistance from her parents that fado was no place for a girl, much less a safe source of income. Completing her studies and taking a reliable admin job failed to submerge her dream, nor did serious illness, and after attending sessions at the Museu do Fado hosted by singer António Rocha, Luísa returned to the world of fado with renewed passion and sincerity.

Luísa soon received invitations to perform at prestigious fado venues like the Marquês da Sé de Alexandra and Mário Pacheco’s Clube de Fado. She appeared in the film 'Amália', playing the role of the legendary Ercília Costa, and began to perform regularly at prestigious national and international festivals.

Following the prompting of composer Carlos Manuel Proença, Luísa finally recorded her first album ‘Uma Noite de Amor’, produced by Proença, in 2011. Despite being a debut album it is the perfect mirror of the art and soul of Luísa Rocha, representing her versatility and complete mastery of melody.
